What do you think of web3 social metaverse. When the biggest one Meta (Facebook, instagram) laying off employee because of cost concern, Zukerberg loosing like 100 Bn in capital. And also there are many project now looking to be a social platform on web3 how with quai beat em.
One the the recent hyped one is lens protocol.
I think that the Metaverse and blockchain are two different things, that may eventually be intertwined.
The Metaverse in my eyes is simply a hyper-refined, multi-player VR experience. While blockchain may be used to secure assets or preserve information in this type of experience, I see no essential relationship between the two.
The idea of a Web3 social platform is extremely interesting. I remember SteemIt back in the day, which took more of a blogging approach, was fairly popular for a while. Lens Protocol is also a really interesting approach – especially given the ongoing complaints of censorship about existing social platforms.
I think Quai could be a good option for a social platform to build on due to its low fees and security. The security and censorship resistance of a Web3 social platform is limited to the security and censorship resistance of the Layer 1 it is built on – and I believe Quai will offer unmatched security at scale in that regard.

A current social entity (I.E. Facebook, Instagram) will not be the predominant Metaverse social platform. No single platform will dominate the space. You will see multiple platforms pop up based on interests, niches, etc.
